Introduction

Performing ArtsThe Performing Arts Department enjoys state of the art facilities comprising of a spring-floored dance studio; purpose-built Drama Suite with Green Room; dressing rooms, black-out facilities, lighting bars, lighting board and integrated sound system; recording studio and rehearsal rooms as well as a dedicated Apple Mac suite to compose and edit compositions. Everything you need to shine!

All Key Stage 3 pupils have a timetabled Drama and Music class each week, where all pupils can develop and learn new skills. Our classes help to nurture and build pupil confidence through participation in a range of activities in a fun, creative and safe environment. We strive to create life changing experiences and long lasting memories for all our pupils.

At KS4 we offer CCEA GCSE Music and Drama and our excellent results are testament to the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of our pupils and staff.

The Performing Arts department greatly enriches the whole school experience by giving pupils the opportunity to perform at a range of school events throughout the year such as: prize-giving, open night, talent shows, lunch time theatre, Dungannon Feis and performance competitions. Most recently our College Choir recorded for the Bishops Christmas message for RTE and through Shared Education, we collaborate with our partner schools in a community choir.

We enjoy visits from industry professionals, Hollywood producer Mark Huffam, Bruiser director Lisa May, TV Producer and director Bernadette Morris and sound engineer Marco Landi to name just a few, who give us advice on career options or lead us in performance workshops that hone our skills and talents in other ways. We visit the theatre at least once a year, experience live productions from The Lyric Theatre Creative Learning Project and enjoy being involved with local theatre resources such as BEAM, Bardic and CRAIC Theatre.
