Miss T Murphy

St Patrick’s College believe that with the right support every pupil can fulfil their numeracy potential.  The goal of numeracy support is to raise standards in all Key Stages.

Numeracy support takes the form of 1:1 or small group sessions. In these sessions we promote the benefits of numeracy not only in school but across the curriculum and into ‘real life’.

Numeracy Support sessions are adapted and managed by staff to overcome any barriers to learning.  Numeracy Support Staff work closely with the school’s SENCO and class teachers in order maximise progression. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and suggest topics they themselves want to cover in class.

We aim to make each session as practical and purposeful possible.

“If students aren’t learning the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”
