Skills Builder School

At St Patrick’s College, we recognise the importance of providing opportunities for pupils to develop essential skills which will be required across all subjects, in future education and careers. 

Year 8 and 9 pupils currently have Skills Builder periods on their weekly timetable. 

Pupils benchmark their skills level in each of the essential skills before completing tasks via the Skills Builder Hub, allowing pupils to enhance their skills levels. 

Pupils also take part in projects, working collaboratively to enhance their skills set as they present their work to their peers and judging panels, including representatives from industry. 

Skills Builder also have a website, Homezone  which allows parents/ guardians to work with their child(ren) to develop their skills. Skills Builder Homezone can be viewed on Homezone | Skills Builder

We are delighted to have been awarded the Skills Builder Bronze Award in August 2023 and the Skills Builder Silver Award in August 2024 in recognition of the importance we have placed on skills development in St Patrick’s College.
