Collaborative Learning Approach
September 2009 saw us embark on an exciting new era in the life of St. Patrick’s Grammar School; it was the beginning of our involvement in the Dungannon Learning Partnership, a sub group of the larger Dungannon and Cookstown Area Learning Community. This involves a number of schools and colleges within close proximity collaborating in order to provide their students with a wider range of subjects. This collaborative approach to learning enables our school to offer a wider range of applied and general subjects to our lower sixth pupils as well as pupils from the local learning partnership.
Schools in the partnership include:
St. Joseph's Convent, Donaghmore
St. Patrick's College Dungannon,
Drumglass High School Dungannon,
Integrated College Dungannon,
St. Joseph's Coalisland and
South West College Dungannon.
All working together towards meeting the needs of the Entitlement Framework. The groundwork for this collaboration was initiated through contacts between participating principals and subsequently the regular meetings of the various schools collaboration co-ordinators. As a result of this process pupils from our school and partner schools have been able to access a much greater range of general and applied subjects since September 2009.
